  • Jim Rivers

London, Moscow, Sao Paolo, Dublin, Mexico, Shanghai, Athens, Bogota, Singapore, Amsterdam… in the last year Jim has travelled the world with his techy, glitchy, groovy electronic sound - and looking back in retrospect, it has all consistently become crazier.

Jim has continued to build on his reputation since his first release on Saw Recordings in 2006 ('Restore/Future' EP). Since then his music has appeared on Saved, Bedrock, EQ, Baroque, GU Music, Mouseville, Cr2, Audio Therapy & Renaissance and he has remixed for Nic Fanciulli, Quivver, Gabriel & Dresden and Paul Harris amongst many others. Jim's second EP for Saw, 'I Go Deep' received critical acclaim in the dance music press and A list DJ support globally.

November 2007 saw the launch of Jim’s own imprint, Misfit Records. The label allows Jim to release his own music the way he wants to, showcasing his different sounds and ideas. The label is now into its 4th release and has some great new music and remixers already on board, including No Brainer, Claes Rosen, Robytek, Tom Budden and Kos.

In 2008 Jim developed something of a studio partnership with Paolo Mojo, with two tracks already released; the first 'Darkplace' which came on Paolo's own Oosh imprint late last year and the second track, 'Ron Hardy Said' landed on Eric Prydz’s Mouseville Records. UK label Simple released Jim’s “Mirage” last autumn, featuring a remix from Tobias.

Further projects include an EP for John Digweed’s Bedrock label; a remix for Patric la Funk’s Timbee label; further remixes for Bedrock - Morgan Page & Gregory Shiff feat. Astrid Suryanto "All I Know", Lexicon Avenue "Pursuit" on Forensic, Milton Jackson & Sei A "Glasgow Kiss" on Urban Torque, Lil Dirty "Vintage" on We Love Muzik and for Tomoki & Nono "Park in the Morning" on King Street. He’s also just completed a remix of Oliver Moldan “Pink Mist” for Faith Music along with a EP for Four:Twenty and two singles for Global Underground.

Decibel Music Management proudly announces that Jim Rivers is to re launch the Nubreed series for Global Underground. This exciting double disc concept is due for release on 30th March 2009 and the project will also feature a number of Jim’s own productions, along with a fully branded GU world tour including a launch party during Miami WMC.

The last few months have seen Jim gigging all over the world in some of the best venues on offer today including Ministry of Sound in London, Pacha in Sao Paolo and Arma17 in Moscow amongst many others. Jim has been taking his sound to dance floors across the globe and getting rave reviews along the way. 2008 saw his debut on John Digweed’s Transitions show, followed by his DJ debut at super club Zouk in Singapore. In July he visited South America for a five date tour for Global Underground and then a subsequent tour in February for Renaissance. He's just returned from 5 dates in Japan, including an extended 5 hour set @ AIR Tokyo for Saw Records and before Christmas he returned to Shindig, Urban Gorilla, Russia (first ever Misfit Records party), Liverpool and Kosovo. His Nubreed tour includes dates in Ireland, Slovakia, Holland, Lebanon, Sweden, Lithuania and Poland.

With the acclaimed launch of Misfit Records, the release of the Audio Therapy Spring /Summer Sampler (mixed by Jim Rivers), the fantastic Nubreed project, a host of new productions and continued touring, Jim is without doubt one of the UK’s brightest prospects.
