Canada is a melting pot of talent for the world of electronic music with Richie Hawtin, Tiga, Deadmau5 and John Acquaviva leading the field in their respective genres.
As we move into 2008, there is no surprise that Toronto born Adam K is being heralded as the latest in an impressive line of Canadian producers to introduce their unique sound to all four corners of the globe.
Adam's vast knowledge of audio engineering and aural design has allowed him to manipulate sounds into his very own individual style, and over a decade's experience of composing, production and engineering have been spent fine tuning his skills.
The results are more than impressive.
His hit 'Twilight' - produced alongside his long time friend and studio cohort Soha - was one of the biggest selling songs of 2007. Hitting number one on Beatport and countless other download sites, 'Twilight' swiftly became Pete Tong's Essential New Tune.
The success of 'Twilight' also grabbed the attention of none other than Tiesto, and Adam was soon turning his attention to remixing projects by the biggest dj on the planet.
First up came his remixes on Tiesto's 'Break My Fall' and this was swiftly followed by his remix on the Dutch maestro's 'Do You Feel Me' - both on Black Hole Recordings. The remixes became two of the most popular remixes of 2007, and further remix offers began to flood in.
His next foray into remix ventures was another double remix on fellow Canadian Deadmau5's releases on Play Digital; '1981' and 'Hey Baby'. Both remixes proved to be massive sellers on Beatport and cemented Adam's position as one of the hottest properties on the dance scene, and with further remixes on labels that have included Xtravaganza, Ultra, and his own label Hotbox Digital, Adam's profile continues to soar.
Adam's latest offering 'Long Distance' followed the same course as his previous release and duly smashed its way into Beatport's top 10. With widespread support from djs as varied as Judge Jules, Carl Cox and Pete Tong, Adam once again reminded everyone why he is the name on the lips of record labels far and wide.
Now, with 2008 well underway, and with remix offers pouring in from all over the planet, you can expect to hear a lot more from Canada's hottest new export - Adam K.
